We can learn from this if we just pull together Recognize we’re all the same But we’re in for a bout of really stormy weather And we ‘ve gotta shield ourselves from the coming rain It ain’t over til it’s over It’s not time to say ‘stick a fork in it, it’s done’ We can grow from this if we all stand united But we’ve got to up our game to be as one Cause we’re in it for the long haul, can’t afford to be short-sighted It’s the only way we’re gonna see we’ve finally won Cause it ain’t over til it’s over The enemy’s got a billion bullets in his gun It ain’t over til it’s over Let’s all join to get this killer on the run We all face a common enemy We’re all born of Mother Earth Brother and sisters without enmity Valuing each others’ worth We can grow from this if we just come together Some sacrifices must be made We’ll stand resolute, with no thought of surrender Man the barricades, and the enemy outplayed And reboot the world we’ve made It ain’t over til it’s over It’s not time to say ‘stick a fork in it, it’s done’ It ain’t over til it’s over But today, there’s still a battle to be won It ain’t over til it’s over But today, there’s still a battle to be won

**END HUNGER NOW** 20,000 children between the ages of newborn and 5 years old starve to death on this planet... Every. Single. Day. I can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t feed a starving child With money that they’re never gonna spend This travesty, it eats at me, you know It really drives me wild And I can’t see it ever gonna end As long as there are greedy sons of bitches in this world This holocaust of hunger will remain As 7 million children starve, They’re someone’s boys and girls, This year and next year, over and again Well, it’s the nth degree of heartlessness It’s zero Kelvin cold And if this doesn’t stop, we’re takin’ names And every one of these fat cats will open their billfolds We’re sick to death of real life hunger games They can spark imagination as they touch the face of god And I know it’d put my ego to the test But if I was rich as Midas, I wouldn’t want my epilogue To read I’d turned into somebody I detest But these richest men on Planet Earth Are dirt poor where it counts Starving children just don’t go with the décor They don’t appear to give a fuck As our condemnation mounts They shove care and compassion out the door Well, it’s the nth degree of heartlessness It’s zero Kelvin cold And if this doesn’t stop, we’re takin’ names And every one of these fat cats will open their billfolds We’re sick to death of real life hunger games In this time of wealth we can’t ignore 7 million mothers’ cries It’s not mutually exclusive, that’s for sure Bellies can be filled and silver rockets they can fly The winds of change are too strong to ignore Anymore Yeah, it’s the nth degree of heartlessness It’s zero Kelvin cold And if this doesn’t stop, we’re raisin’ Cain And every one of these fat cats will take off their blindfolds We’re sick to death of real life hunger games Yeah, it’s the nth degree of heartlessness It’s zero Kelvin cold And if this doesn’t stop, we’re pointin’ blame And every one of these fat cats will open their billfolds It’s long past time to close these hunger games https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_JLgnNxbTA

about

Tez Howes Moncton, New Brunswick

I'm just an old Canadian fart writing & recording tunes, trying to capture the vibe of pre-millennial popular musics, rock, blues, jazz, funk, country, pop, etc. Lumiere and Knowhere are primarily indie pop, and The New Codiac Blues is a collection of blues-based tunes.
They're dotted with selected collabs with uber-talented friends in the UK, USA, Australia and Bulgaria of a variety of sounds.
